Video

This is a video I made of the rainbow-colored chicks from the Co-op. I'm so new to this cool software, I added lots of stuff to it!

What colors did you buy? They are cute, but I thik I am pretty much a naturalist!

Who buys them? I worry that city kids get them because they are so cute. Then when the chicks start to get big they start looking for a nice farmer like you to take them in!

We didn't buy any, though I REALLY wanted to!!

Well, that's actually how we ended up with several of our chickens! Some grandparents bought their grandchildren five cute little chicks for last Easter. But the kids' parents said no way! So our friends took them in and we said "We'll take them!" So now we only have three of them, but two of them turned out to be our gorgeous Silkie pair!

Who would think you could get those white silkies like that! I guess that kind of thing will happen again and again, as people find out who will take those "pesky" little Easter presents off their hands.

Yeah, I'm really glad we took them in....even though three out of five were roosters. People just don't know what they're getting into!

I almost went to the feed store today to look for white silkies! But, I came to my senses and decided to wait until April. We got 8 inches of snow last night!

At our local feed store, they only sell breeds like Rhode Island Reds and Barred Rocks. I have to confess; we actually bought six little babies today! Since our chicks are coming Monday, there shouldn't be much age difference.

Wow! The most we got this year was about 1/2 inch!!
